Der neue Oldtimer (The new Oldtimer) welcomes me with a relaxed, informal and fun atmosphere. There I can either be alone for myself, with friends or in nice company with my direct neighbor and the hosts. If I want, I can easily have a nice conversation here with other guests or the staff – you do not have to stay alone in a this place.
The hosts Conny and her team are friendly, always have a loose spell on their lips and entertain the guests in their very own way – it can sometimes happen that “bunny”, “cow”, “cattle” and “the Olle” 😉 are present. The audience is mixed, from young to “young at heart”, mostly gay.
The drinks range goes from softs, long drinks, wine, spirits and liquors, sparkling wine and beer to hot drinks. The selection of music in the well-frequented smoker’s local ranges from hits to hits from the 70s, 80s, 90s, Pop, Retro and more. Depending on the day of the week, the time and the audience, the music is sometimes muted and again not – then party and mood are announced.
The restrooms is available separately for male and female.
The bar is within walking distance of Wittenbergplatz to reach, is at ground level and is high-heels-friendly. You can sit anywhere: at the counter, in cozy sitting areas, at the bar tables and in summer on the small terrace, which is not visible from the street.
The entire bar is served, even on the terrace. Worth seeing is the decoration: seasonal, colorful and shrill. Every time you visit this place, new details can be discovered time and time again. A wonderful story…
