The Gretchen is located on a commercial area a few meters from U-Bahn station Mehringdamm. In the former converted stable building I discovered an interesting location. The presented as a varied venue in modern-casual ambience. While exploring the club, I heard in the larger dance floor, a lounge to linger and a spacious bar which moved along one side. As well as a smaller bar in the slightly remote area. Likewise, I noticed the preserved cross vault with thin narrow-running support columns as an optical highlight. In addition, the spacious dance floor with adjoining stage. Through a compact passage, I found a smaller second dance floor, with another bar and dance platforms. Likewise, the Smoking Area, in a separately furnished smoking area with available seating. Up the stairs, it goes to the toilets. Overall, this is a smokefree venue. I especially liked the personal touch of the team, which made me feel welcome. At the bars, which are equipped with bar stools, serving classic club drinks, such as: long drinks, beer, wine, prosecco, spirits, liqueurs, soft drinks…
The Gretchen is largely high-heels friendly except for a … two steps when changing the dance floors, or the Smoking Area. However, the stairs up to the restrooms is a real challenge – restrooms for women and men are available separately.

The girls celebrated, danced, made contacts and visibly had fun together. A party I gladly took part in, both at the beginning accompanied, and later on alone. A place where I felt comfortable throughout the night. Also, I thought it was great “only” among “girls” with a handful of guys to celebrate and have fun.
